Is there any such thing as a sports retainer for a piercing? I play rugby, and I think it irritates my eyebrow piercing when I take it out 3+ times a week during the season.

You could try a flexible material like tygon, teflon, or even some acrylics. That would help pressure, but not the risk of catching or tearing. To help minimize that risk I would suggest using o-rings rather than threaded ends. that way if it gets tugged hard enough the jewelry would just slip out rather than potentially tearing.
