i was wondering if people are still answering questions since none have been posted since the 14th. if they are, then i will post my question after i have received a response, if not, then you will be missed QoD

Honestly, I only answer questions that interest me and that haven’t been answered a dozen times. I have not, nor will I answer questions just for the sake of answering…..well except for right now. Right now I just want to see my name in print.

At the moment, there’s less than 50 pending questions and none meet the above mentioned criteria. I realize some people are put off by having to register with wordpress, some think all of BME is down due to the lack of updates and some are people have other reasons. Nonetheless, if you have a question post it, I can assure you that myself and others are checking the questions regularly.

  1. interesting. So i guess the question (that is important to me) isn’t going to be answered. I have searched through your questions and have not found mine answered in any way.
    Thanks.

  2. I’d like to point out that some of us (namely, Warren and myself) HAVE been answering questions - and we both work a lot and have our own lives, and certainly don’t have copious free time to sit in front of the computer and answer questions here. Everyone who’s currently on the AskBME staff has a real job where we get paid to answer these questions from customers, remember? Not to mention that AskBME is in the process of getting the staff trained up and comfortable on Wordpress, and right now there are only a few people here actively answering questions and if we answer ALL of them ourselves it’s going to get boring. So, as I’ve said before, be patient and check back - we do update every day, or at least try to when real life doesn’t get in the way!

If you have a question regarding a piercing or tattoo that desperately requires advice or help, CALL YOUR PIERCER OR TATTOOIST. If you have a medical question or, gods forbid, an emergency, CALL YOUR DOCTOR. Do not ask Teh Interwab and then get stroppy if your query gets missed in the queue!

  3. It was not my intention to come across as “stroppy”.
although maybe a little given the way sean answered the question i commented on. That’s all. I think you guys are great and i apologize for being a little bitchy. about my original question, i just wanted a second opinion about something but you’re right i have a lot of other options for that.

  4. I can’t say how others look through the queue of questions, but I try to answer the oldest ones first, and right now we have questions waiting from October 11th that I’m slowly but surely working through, and we get ten or more new submissions a day. So my best advice is that if you want to ask a question, ask it, but be patient and forgiving if it doesn’t make it through. We’re not hating on you specifically if it doesn’t get through, I promise, we’re all mostly nice people. ;)

  5. I tend to answer redundant questions (ie: stuff I answer on a CONSTANT basis) and quite often with the AskBME stuff I’m going to start inserting links to previous discussions, as I have been for the past couple questions I’ve answered.

How I go about answering questions is I shoot through most of the piercing specific related questions and quickly answer the no brainer type questions…If there are a few questions that make me go: “Hmmmm?” I tend to mull it over for a night or so analyzing the situation.

The one issue right now is as Lori said we’re sorting out getting all the QOD Staff familiar with WordPress system and answering questons via this way, etc.

Right now It’s mostly been Lori and I answering questions…But thankfully Sean and the others are getting into things nicely…Also its not fair if someone is answering ALL of the questions, the QOD Staff has often pretty much shared the information wealth they have…So instead of say Lori and I answering 20 questions in a row…We’ll answer a handful and then wait for the next QOD Staff member to answer a handful, etc.

I haven’t logged onto view the questions for the past couple days because I was in the process of moving and what not. Plus as I said I don’t want to answer a billion questions.

  6. also I cannot see any questions asked by people named David nor deadsinner…If you tell us your user name we can work our hardest to get through to answering your question asap.

  7. hmmm…maybe my question didn’t even go through for some reason or another. well i guess i’ll wait it out and see what happens.
Thanks guys for gettin’ back to me about all of this. I appreciate it.

  8. David I’d suggest re-submitting your question please. As if it is not there already, chances are it’s not going to be there…For whatever reason, not sure why it didn’t go through properly.

But yeah go here: http://www.askbme.com/submit-your-question/ and re-submit your question so that we can address it properly.
