How big do you have to stretch a septum piercing before getting a septril piercing?

There isn’t necessarily a size you “have” to be at, but it obviously needs to be big enough to be able to get tools into. I would guess that 0ga or 00ga would be the minimum to make it reasonable to do the piercing.

  1. If you went to a good freehand piercer they could probably do it with a much smaller septum piercing. Just make sure they are good.

  2. By “tools” I guess I was only thinking of a needle and maybe an insertion taper. So, I don’t know that being a “freehand piercer” is necessarily a requirement.

Obviously it also has to be big enough to accommodate whatever type of jewelry is going in…most commonly some for of labret stud. So, that has to be taken into consideration when figuring out the size needed.
