HELP! About 6 months ago I purchased an 18 qauge 1/4 inch labret/monroe stainless steel piece on jewelry that was just perfect for my monroe. It has a micro gem (about 1mm to 1.5mm wide) and it was a “push in” jewel rather than an internal or external screw. I do remember it was at least $30 but my computer crashed and I no longer have the link. Can anyone help me? I’ve been searching for days and cannot find anyone who sells the. Painful Pleasures sells something similar but the interior flatback is much wider than the original one I purchased. My original is about 2.5mm wide while the Painful Pleasure piece is 4mm. Unfortunately I cannot wear bioplast so it has really become a problem to find a good piece of jewelry now. Thanks!
What it sounds like, is that you have a NeoMetal Threadless Labret. To make the statement a bit more accurate it should be Titanium not Stainless Steel, as NeoMetal strictly deals with Implant Grade Titanium (ASTM F136 6Al-4V ELI Titanium).
There are only a small handful of online jewelry retailers that offer this type of jewelry, however my suggestion is to perhaps visit your local piercing studio and request a custom order of the NeoMetal jewelry. There are a lot of reputable studios that carry that type of jewelry or if for some reason they don’t, it shouldn’t be hard for them to order it in for you. As realistically the price shouldn’t really be more than $30 for the jewelry, if anything you might pay a couple extra dollars for the shipping.
Perhaps if you let us know where you’re located we can help you track down a studio that carries the jewelry or will be willing to get it for you.

I actually do have the specific one you are talking about from Painful Pleasures, except mine is BioPlast, and I love it. The back may be wider, but it’s not too wide that it’s on your teeth, and it’s not too wide to even be noticeable.
mary k. on May 27th, 2008 at 12:27 amYe gods, Bioplast is such rubbish, I’ve seen SO many people have hideous reactions to it. There are so many studios and shops and websites selling high quality jewellery and retainers, there is really no good reason to wear such cheap garbage in your body!

Warren Hiller on May 27th, 2008 at 1:27 amHi Guys,
What is good quality jewelery manafactured from usually?.
I want a gold type labret, but dont want to pay top dollar for a solid gold and dont know if this is even a good choice of jewelery.
I am having difficulties in obtaining a 14g 11mm labret, gold in colour here in Australia.
Is Anodized titanium ( gold in colour) any good?
pipa on May 28th, 2008 at 8:26 amAlso is ziccon gold the same thing, but different name?
any suggestions would be much appreciated.
thanks

Pipa, since you have thousands of questions about all kinds of different things and refuse to give us any way to contact you (or even tell us where in Australia you are, you may have noticed there are a few cities here), why don’t you join an Australian piercing forum, such as pierced.com.au?
To answer THIS question, good quality jewellery is manufactured from lots of different materials, and if you do want gold it should be nickel-free 18kt solid gold to reduce the risk of any issues with the jewellery. Yes, gold is expensive. Gold plate is garbage (it chips and flakes off). Anodised Ti is a possibility (we get a yellowish bronzey colour from Anatometal to sell at our shop, it’s quite popular with people who want yellow jewellery but are too cheap to buy gold), “zircon” or “aztec” gold is NOT the same thing - it is a PVD coating laid on top of titanium or steel and is very prone to discolouring and chipping.
Any good piercer worth their salt can supply high-quality jewellery, full stop. If your piercing studio can’t help you out with either ordering it for you or advising you on a good resource (and there are plenty of resources for high-quality jewellery online), it’s probably time to find a new piercer!
Cheers from Down Under, yourself.. I don’t think you realise that both Warren and I are in Darwin.

Most people’s names are clickable links that take you to their site of choice, Warren’s and mine will both take you to our staff pages on here. I see that you just joined the forum I recommended, so I’ll contact you on there at some point, I’m sure!
Lori St.Leone on May 28th, 2008 at 11:26 amI would honestly recommend Body Art Forms for Neometal if you are buying online. It is always good to support your local shop, but if you must buy online then BAF is the way to go for jewelry in my personal opinion. They are very reasonably priced.
