I got my eyebrow pierced 4 weeks ago, the shop where i got it done said i have to wait 6 months before i even think about changing it. I have had several piercings they all healed beautifully and fast. Every where else i asked says i can change it after 8 weeks. How long would you suggest i wait to at the very least?
I would also advise four to six months. It takes an average of around three months for initial healing (in tissue other than mucous membrane) and depending on whereabouts it is, it’s a good idea to allow time for the newly healed fistula to toughen up so you are less likely to damage it by changing the jewellery. Eyebrow piercings can be tempramental and prone to rejection if not cared for adequatley, so to reduce the risk of rejection, leaving the jewellery in situ for a minimum of four months is a good plan.

thank you! when i tell my customers to wait 3 to 6 months they look at me like i have 5 heads. and they always say “its just a piercing”
knucklehead nick on September 13th, 2008 at 10:06 pmagreed Tiff…I will say though that in the 8 week period I often ask clients to come see me so I can have a look at how their piercing is doing.
I also stress that the piercing will take one full year to be 100% healed…Usually the 8 week time frame is a generalization and often varies depending on the individuals bodies response to having the piercing, etc.
But yeah I agree that I often suggest anywhere from 3 to even sometimes almost a year before they change their jewelry…and when doing so, to be VERY cautious about what they buy, if they do not buy thier next jewelry piece from me,etc. As well as to make sure the next piece inserted is sold as a sterile piece of jewelry (ie: in a verifiable sterilized package, etc.
