Ok…heres my question. I split my tongue awhile ago, maybe 4 months or so and everything is great…..I love my tongue and all that i can do but there is one problem…I can no longer blow bubble gum bubbles. Sounds silly but I really used to enjoy that and I was wondering if anyone else has had any difficulty blowing bubbles with a split tongue and if its even possible after the split to blow bubble gum bubbles. Thanks :)

Can’t hurt to ask:
Ok folks… feedback time!

  1. I can’t blow bubbles or even whistle properly since I had my tongue pierced. Doubt you’ll be able to do either with a split. Sorry, I miss blowing bubbles too

  2. Good to hear I’m not the only one! I can’t blow bubbles at all since I got my tongue split in April, I used to be able to.

  3. I had my tongue split this past December, and I can still whistle and blow bubbles. In fact, I can whistle through my tongue, and blow 2 bubbles at once hehe.

Just give it some more time… even now I’m still learning new things I can do w/ it. :)

  4. My tongue is split and it doesn’t hinder me from whistling, blowing bubbles or even tying knots in cherry stems.

  6. i don’t have a split, but my tongue piercing seems to have hindered my gum-bubbles. not whistling or cherry stem knotting though.

  8. ive had mine split for maybe a week or two and even though blowing bubbles is a bit tender i’ve started mastering double bubbles.. i just kinda wanted to brag sorry…

that really sucks! try keeping your splits together as tight as possible? or using only fork of your tongue and lots of gum so its easy to stretch it out flat enough to blow a bubble :)

    good luck on your mission!

  9. More questions like this please people, ask what you’re really wondering! :) THIS is what askbme should be about. I’m sure I’m not the only one sick of seeing (or answering!) the same banal lobe stretching/labret 101 questions every single update…

  10. I have a split tongue. About three weeks old and I can whistle/blow bubbles the same as before.

  11. I also learned the double bubble trick with my split tongue. It just takes practice. If you pull the gum into the center of the split so it covers both sides of your tongue you should be able to blow two bubbles at once.

  12. Are you guys kidding about the tying knots in cherry stems part?

  13. I can actually blow bubbles filled with the air from whistling so when it pops, it plays a pretty little tune.
But in all seriousness, I couldn’t do either of those things right after I got cut. I regained “normal” functions fully after about two months of training my tongue. Don’t lose hope!
