PTFE tape stretching

Okay so i bought PTFE Thread Seal Tape and i taped around one of my plugs like 5 times just to start off with. I lubed up the plug and popped it in with no force at all, but then about an hour later i went to twist the plug because I do that from time to time after stretching and it wouldn’t twist. I tried to take it out, but the plug was stuck. I could not get it out and so by this point I was freaking out thinking i bought the wrong tape or something. I got it out and ripped the tape off and popped it back in but im confused.

Basically what I’m asking is.. is this normal? did i buy the wrong tape or something? should i have waited longer?

few things could’ve been cause of the issue:

You may have wrapped it too much from the giddyup. Maybe your lobe just wasn’t ready for that much of a bridge to fill in the gap.
So maybe you should’ve waited longer or maybe you should’ve used less tape.

Also - please dont rotate (o twist, or pull) your body jewelryl. It doesn’t have to move freely in the tissue and few people’s do.
Teflon tape though soft and thin isn’t smooth like glass or steel and to force it back and forth on your delicate lobes!

  1. After I tape my ears, I can’t really remove them or rotate them either — it will usually take them a few days but they loosen up, and when they do, I tape them again. I rarely ever go up to five wraps though.

  2. To add along what Lexci said, (personally) I found that ptfe tape dries out my lobes very, very quickly - to the point where the tape becomes extremely tacky. That could definitely add to the “stuck” feeling in your case. Myself, I have found bondage tape much easier to work with and was gentler on my lobes.

  3. I have to agree 5 wraps is much too much, i have been at my size for a year now, i tried 3 wraps they wouldn’t fit in, i didn’t force it. 1 wrap at a time, keeps you from looking like a monster!!!!

  4. Just lubricate the tape wrapped plug or soak the said plug in jojoba oil it won’t stick and feels great

  5. Well with PTFE(TEFLON) tape you have to lube it up ALOT. The way you can tell if its enough is it turns semi-transparent or translucent if you will. When you can see through it then add a little lube or oil i use olive oil to your ear and slide it in. And yes you may have put too much on. I know its thin but no more than 3 wraps at once.
