My friend would like to have her nipples pierced at 8G rather than have it done smaller then stretching. Is it possible to do this?
This is one of those “boy, times have changed” sort of questions that reminds me that there’s been a shift in the Piercing community since I was a fresh-faced (and far less jaded) youngin’….
When I first started getting pierced, 8g was fairly common and usually recommended for nipples. The larger gauge provided a more stable piercing. Not to mention a (generally) quicker healing time.
So, now that my “back in my day we walked 20 miles, barefoot, in the snow to get our 8g nipple piercing” story is finished: Yes. It’s possible and a good choice!

I have tiny man nipples, and I started at 8g without problems. They healed VERY quickly.
