Eye tattoos in OK illegal?

my question isn’t as much a question as much as it is outrage. What is this? The state of Oklahoma wants to ban eye tattoos. I thought that this was a free country. I guess I was wrong. Apparently I do not have the power to choose how I look. I am sad to say that I used to live there. How can they legally do this?

With the risks that come with eyeball tattooing… I’m not really against this.
I’m not saying it shouldn’t be done… just that it being illegal will make it more serious for people to do/get and hopefully keep the hacks from doing something that’s beyond their skill set.

For the most part, things were a lot safer when they were underground.

  1. look, don’t worry too much about OK, we’re extremely backward. we didn’t even get legal tattooing until about 3 years ago, no shit. and we got the legal lottery about 4 years ago. we still have 3.2 beer sold in our gas stations and convenience stores, liquor stores are closed on sunday and not allowed to cool drinks, and wine is not sold in grocery stores. the list is almost endless, and there’s a reason why we’re called the buckle of the bible belt. on second though, i’ve got to get my ass out of here…

  2. Realistically it’s the right of the government as a regulatory agency to ban or outlaw practices it deems unsafe. We don’t have to agree with this, it’s the power we have vested in our government. If you don’t like the laws, rally to change them. Contact local representatives and DO something. Otherwise, understand that this is what government agencies do.

  5. Freedom of speech would be the right to say “I want my eyeball tattooed” or more to the point “as someone who’s been in this community a long-ass time I think it’s dangerous and you shouldn’t do it”.
