my piercer wants to do mine and my friends VCH’s with 14gauge 10mm diameter CBR’s. we’re both uncomfortable with this and no matter what i say she refused to even think of a curved barbell, and says we can change the jewellery after about 5 - 7 days.
is this OK or should i be finding someone else?

I would personally look for someone else- you’ve told them what you want and it’s within reason; they’ve given you advice (changing it in a week) that I find to be questionable; they plan to pierce a hood at 14g…
All in all- and this is opinion- I say move along to someone else.

What gauge are they pierced at? I have one and I’m not even sure what it is, I’ve had it for a long time, I know that I’ve have a straight barbell in it and whatever it is, it’s been fine.
Anna on April 27th, 2009 at 11:05 pmi’ve talked to various friends who have VCH and they’ve all been done with 12gauge and either a curved barbell or a straight barbell.
i’ve talked to two other piercers and they’re ok with the curved barbell but not with the 12gauge.
Black Roses on April 28th, 2009 at 3:37 pmI believe that everyone is different and depends on the actually tissue mass there. i manly use 14g 8-10mm curved barbell just for comfort.
But if someone ask me to do it differently ie with a bcr i would consider it and ask why.
Not just flat refuse there request.
In the end its not our body we’re piercing

hey just to update: i got my VCH and after a chat with my piercer she agree’d to do it with a curved barbell
