i just got my (female) nipples stretched from 14 gauge (healed for 8 years) to an 8 gauge.
my question is: should i be able to rotate the ring? i just got it done 2 days ago, there’s no crusties or other guck coming out of the holes, but i cant move the rings to the left or right. it’s like they’re stuck in place.
is this normal?
It’s not normal to stretch from 14g to 8g in one sitting! What happened to 12g and 10g? It’s not surprising the jewellery is tight. I would advise using alot of lube and downsizing the jewellery to minimise the risk of damage to the piercing. You know, there is alot of information on here and elsewhere on the net on safe stretching practice. I really thought that by now it might be common knowledge, particularly amongst those who use bmezine, that skipping sizes is just not the done thing.

thanks for your reply.
i understand that upsizing so quickly, without going to 12 and 10 gauges, is not common practice. it was not due to uninformed choices or lack of information, and i appreciate all that this website has had to offer over the years and the advice you have recently given me. i understand it’s an atypical case, so thanks all the same.
last night i did 2 salt soaks of 10 minutes per nipple, followed by a light application of pure emu oil blended with 5 drops each of tea tree oil and lavender essential oil. today, i’m pleased to announce that i’m getting some crust and ooze coming out of the holes.
if interested, i’ll keep you updated after tonight’s salt soak and oil application. hopefully, i’ll be able to move the jewelery soon.
psychophoria on May 23rd, 2009 at 12:09 amCrust and ooze are also not normal with healthy stretches. I notice you are disregarding my advice.

cherrybomb on May 27th, 2009 at 9:02 pmas tiff says, if you don’t downsize asap you’re asking for serious trouble. exactly how is skipping two sizes on a nipple stretch making an informed decision?
redeye on May 27th, 2009 at 11:38 pmIt is not always a bad thing when jewelry does not move freely and loosely. It doesn’t need to be moved at all when in a piercing, except perhaps for cleaning! Nipples tend to hold jewelry fairly tightly, regardless if they’re healed or not. Though I bet in this case, the snugness is due to the massive stretch those poor nipples just underwent.
angelfuck on May 28th, 2009 at 2:04 pmTea tree oil is not meant to be used in puncture wounds (which is what your piercing is once more). It’ll irritate the tissue. Lavendar also not great on subdermal tissue.
On pucture wounds, you basically want to irrigate with saline solution. You want the solution to be as close to your body’s chemistry as possible so it doesn’t irritate it. Sea salt soaks are the best you can do without getting sterile saline solution.
You have a fresh piercing, treat it as such.
