i got my hood pierced and a week later it split in half. i need surgury to fix it but they cant guarantee how i will heal i could possibly lose all of my feeling. im not sure wat to do. can i sue?
People have sued for much less, sadly.
Can you describe how you feel the piercer is at fault?
And can you put me in touch with the physician who told you that you could lose all sensation due to a splitting (which is done in the body mod community and by some doctors to increase sensitivity) so I can ask them a few questions that, to be honest, may question their competency?

Interesting problem. And even more interesting solution. Gives me ideas… Thanks Shawn.
Kiera on August 20th, 2009 at 3:57 amits not the splitting that has made me lose all my feeling it will be the surgury to fix it that can do it…im not sure whos fault it is but ive hade 17 other piercings and not one problem this one i had a week and i woke up and it just came out when i went to the tattoo place they said it was too shallow and crooked all i wanted was my money back and i was told to go fuck myself
Dana on August 20th, 2009 at 11:13 amI’m just guessing here.. but did her doctor mean the surgery to repair the hood would desensitize, not the actual split itself?
And if that is the case, I’d personally leave it the way it is!!
Emily on August 20th, 2009 at 3:18 pmFree hood split! More sensation.
San on August 21st, 2009 at 10:16 pmWhy would suturing the hood back together cause you to lose all sensitivity?
Dimruthien on August 21st, 2009 at 10:49 pm#5 I was wondering the same thing.
HereKittyKitty on August 23rd, 2009 at 5:17 pmSomething just feels odd about this whole question.
because with any surgury especially reconstructive scar tissue forms which could cause the loss of feeling
dana on August 24th, 2009 at 10:02 am#7 thats true but were talking about your hood.
mike on August 24th, 2009 at 4:39 pmIt does not make much since why scar tissue formed on your hood would cause a risk of sensation loss considering the scar tissue would not be involving the head or nerve shaft of the clitoris. thats what seems the most confusing.
lack of punctuation just makes this whole thing much more confusing than it ought to be.
katie on August 24th, 2009 at 6:53 pmThere’s some hinkyness afoot.
Shawn Porter on August 25th, 2009 at 8:29 pm#8: Yes, that is what I was thinking.
Dimruthien on August 25th, 2009 at 9:43 pm#7
I think that the hood itself adds to the sensation, so having scar tissue covering it might make the area as a whole less sensitive. I do have a penis, so I could be wrong for all I know.
Jay on August 26th, 2009 at 5:21 pmIf you can’t spell “what” correctly or use basic punctuation you are probably one of the two: way too stupid to get a piercing anyway (and probably caused whatever damage yourself). Or: you aren’t old enough to get a piercing, (and, again, caused the damage yourself).
holly on August 28th, 2009 at 12:23 am#13, I’m pretty sure she stated that she went to a piercer in which she had paid. That would imply she was of age or at least her parents were present. it’s called a typo and I’m pretty sure you’ve been caught having some in your lifetime. not everyone is perfect. So what you are saying is someone that says “wat” must have caused this problem to occur. well how about you enlighten all of us and explain how proper grammar can cause a piercing to fall out?
Missy on September 3rd, 2009 at 11:36 pm#13 - I wouldn’t be so quick to make such judgments, when your grammar isn’t particularly good either. Maybe you are also too stupid to get piercings?
Dimruthien on September 6th, 2009 at 8:37 pmI’m too stupid but imma do it anyhow
