So I am an uncircumcised male and I have been giving thought to getting cut. That said I don’t want to turn this into a cut vs. uncut argument, I’ve done my research and made up my own mind.
Now I had this idea of instead of removing the foreskin to just modify it, and if I don’t like the results I can just remove it completely. The concept I want to try is to cut the foreskin lengthwise into strips. The idea is that it will create a sort of french tickler with the skin.
I am looking for any advice on this. Is this a doable mod? What issues may I come up against? Has this or something like this been done before?
Based on how a foreskin moves and changes and spreads out with the the erectile tendancies of the penis, I’d think cutting your foreskin into strips - (like a fringe? I’m envisioning penis tassles..) - wouldn’t work.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong. And send pictures!

I have wanted to get my tongue split for about five years, but I have horrible chronic canker sores. These canker sores can come from something as minor as eating too much hard candy.
I was wondering if there was any way to reduce the potential for getting canker sores during the healing, or if I should just scrap the idea entirely.
Thank you!!
No one really knows what causes canker sores, but medical professionals have decided that any sort of stress, trauma or chemical imbalance in can trigger them.
I would imagine that a big injury like a tongue split could definitely trigger some cankers, but I reckon that the large wound caused by cutting your tongue in half would likely distract you from the discomfort of a canker sore, nor would having a canker sore have any bearing on the healing.
After the split is healed, it’s just like a normal tongue. …but split! You can get canker sores all over the surface of it just as before.

Sorry if this is a repeat question. I’ve not seen any answer so I’ll risk asking again. Are you aware of outer labia being surgically opened as the in the image I’ve included suggests? Opening up the labia about a half an inch behind the forward edge and either suturing taping said incision to remain open.
I do not exactly understand what the picture is supposed to represent, I am assuming you want the outer labia to be less prominent so that the inner labia is more exposed and accessible? If this is the case, the most logical procedure would be to remove a football shaped section of the outer labia (outside of the sharpie marks in the picture), and suture the wound closed. This would pull the outer labia outwards and make them more “open”.

I’m not sure if someone asked this or not, I searched for it, on here and on google.
But I was wondering if you knew of a place in Reno, Nevada where I could get my toungue split?
I’ve been searching but I can’t find anything that answers that question.
If you’re searching and can’t find anything, it’s likely because local laws prohibit the procedure. Which would make it where a practitioner able to do something like a tongue splitting wouldn’t advertise.
Were I you, I’d join a site like our own IAM.bmezine.com and start networking with people. You never know what might happen.

i have a zero gauge pa and want to turn it into a meato. would cutting from the hole to the tip work cause my pa is a little shallow. wan what is the healing time for this prodecure
The stretched piercing channel will likely make a good base for a meatotomy.
Depending on what method you use, healing time for the procedure is pretty quick- week/two weeks. Just depends on all the normal factors- technique, your health and general ability to heal, etc.

Hey, I would love to get my tongue split for many reasons. I am no stranger to modification, and I would love to have one. Here is the kicker: I am currently a music student in Ohio, and I have scholarships for my tuba playing. Has anyone EVER heard of brass players with split tongues? It would either make me unable to play (not an option right now), or ungodly good. If you have EVER heard of this, please let me know. I have never been able to find a brass player with a tongue split to ask them about it. Maybe this is not an option for me during undergrad, but I don’t want to try it until I find atleast ONE person who has attempted it. Thanks so much! - Raskin666
I am just replying in hopes someone will see this and can answer for you as I am rather curious myself.

Dear BME, I am writing because my tongue web is getting in the way of my desired third tongue piercing. I have been thinking about getting my tongue web cut for a while now and have met my potential artist, the only thing standing in the way of my decision are the facts. I have been unable to find any sites listing specific risks or factors involved in the process. Any information you could give about the risks, ect would be greatly appreciated. I plan on asking my artist as well but a second opinion is always comforting.
Lingual frenectomies are very common. My physician offered me the procedure as a child since my tongue web is quite pronounced and he was concerned it may affect my speech later on (It didn’t) Many piercing clients, like yourself, often seek out a doctor or a body modification artist to remove the tongue web for the very purpose of having a tongue piercing.
I would urge you to seek out a practitioner who is experienced in the procedure, firstly. With any surgery there are always risk factors. However, risks associated with the removal of a tongue web are minimal. If you removed yours, you likely wouldn’t even miss it.

Hey guys,
I’m kind of using you as a (close to) last resort. I really hope you can help me.
I’m looking for someone in/near/traveling to Alberta, or somewhere near it, that is competent in splitting tongues. I’ve searched BME and Google for practitioners, and the few that I’ve found refuse to respond to me (for reasons I’m unaware of).
I’d prefer to go to a cosmetic or dental surgeon, but I haven’t been able to find any of those willing to do this either.
Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys.
There are a lot of reputable studios in Edmonton, Alberta who may be able to direct you to an artist who can do a tongue split. I would suggest you call around (or better yet, visit) a couple of them and you should get the answer you’re looking for. Many artists who can do this kind of procedure are uncomfortable corresponding via anonymous email do to the nature of this particular modification.

Hi, im interested in having a hood split, but im not sure on how to go about getting one. I was wondering who i would contact to get such a proceedure.
Thanks.
x
There are obvious advantages to being a BME/Extreme member- one of which is access to the Hood Splitting section. In said section one might find the names of practitioners who do this particular modification, as most people wouldn’t and don’t openly advertise it.

I’m looking to get my tongue split by an oral surgeon. Before I start contacting doctors I wanted to ask here and see if anyone know of any oral surgeons in NY (more specifically on long island if possible) that would do it. If no one does know of anyone what would be the best way to go about asking? I was also going to get my wisdom teeth pulled would it be best to ask when I call to make an appointment for that (I figured it would be best to do the split and pull my teeth at the same time if they are willing to do it )?
Unfortunately the chances of finding a doctor to say: “Yes I will split your tongue for you” over the phone, etc is going to be non-existent.
When you’re booking the appointment for your wisdom teeth, don’t toss into the convo: “Oh yeah and I’d like to have my tongue split too, while were there.”
Ultimately its about tactfully slipping the concept into the doctors mind, when you are face to face. So book your appointment for your wisdom teeth. Normally when you book the appointment its for a consultation so the Oral Surgeon can see the situation before the teeth extraction. I’d say if anything during that consultation regarding your teeth, bring it casually up to them privately. Discuss the matter with them and see what they say, and ask many many “why” questions if they refuse. Now that doesn’t just mean you keep saying: “But why not?” Instead just think up logical responses to what they say to you.
Also I’d strongly advise looking into the law aspect and using that as a grounds for them to actually do it. Find out what cities/states have banned tongue splitting procedures, unless performed by a licensed practitioner, etc. Armed with that information bring all the research up to the oral surgeon, etc.
Another avenue is consulting with Plastic/Cosmetic/Re-Constructive Surgeons. You don’t have to specifically state what you want the Plastic/Cosmetic Surgeon to do for you, until you meet them. If asked just inform them that there’s a couple things you’d like to talk to the practitioner about in regards to possible work, etc. Then when in the room the Plastic/Cosmetic/Re-Constructive Surgeon and yourself can go over the idea of splitting your tongue.
Know that ultimately these people are going to quite possibly label you with the crazy labeller. But by getting yourself informed and educated and handling yourself in a mature manner, you might just prove them wrong.
