I am want to know is it damaging to play pierce the cock?

The penis can take LOT of abuse. However, play piercing is not without risk. An infection could prove very problematic. Also, repeated play piercing or doing so in larger gauges can cause excessive scar tissue build up, that could potentially limit erectile function. There is a TON of photo’s and experiences in the BME hard section, that would be your best bet to start doing some research on the subject.

high waist jeans

Thursday October 22nd, 2009 @ 2:03 PM

I would like to get my naval pierced, but I compete in rodeo and the jeans that I have to wear are very tight and high waisted. My rodeo circuit doesnt start for about 4 months. Would this be long enough for me to be able to wear the jeans??

Also, I have a very active lifestyle (rodeo, riding dirtbikes, wakeboarding, etc.). Should I be worried about the piercing getting ripped out??

I remember when I first started piercing, jeans that went over the navel were still common. Girls would leave the studio with there pants rolled down over there fresh piercing, but before you know it, they would have to put there jeans on regularly and the pressure proved detrimental to the healing of the piercing. Nowadays, girls jeans barely cover a hood piercing, so this problem is almost totally avoided.

Get the piercing ASAP, so it has time to heal up somewhat before starting the rodeo and other sports. Then during active sports use the eye patch trick, buy a hard plastic eye patch and tape it on over your piercing, which will provide a protective barrier for your piercing. This should greatly reduce trauma to your piercing and allow you to have a new piercing and still be able to participate in your hobbies.

does a bad habit hurt in the long run?

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:48 PM

I want to get my bottom lip pierced, but I have this bad habit of biting the inside of my bottom lip. I guess my question is, whether or not this will be a problem? If I continue to bite my lip will it bother my piercing, or like mess it up? Can it get infected from it? I want to be sure that I do the right thing and not hurt my lip even more.

Compusively biting on your lip will be a negative thing to a healing piercing. If you get in the habit of chewing the actual jewelry, it will wreak havoc on your teeth.

Tongue Web Infection?

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:46 PM

I’ve had my tongue webbing pierced for about 5 weeks now, a week ago i noticed where it was pierced there were two big red bumps forming. They then started to turn really red and there is alot of “white stuff” there as well. i went to see my piercer but she said everything was normal after taking a brief look in my mouth. Im rather worried about it, i think its infected.

This can often happen with tongue web piercings if the web itself is non-existant and the piercing is basically an under-the-tongue surface piercing or if saliva glands have been punctured. Excessive redness and swelling can also be attributed to poor aftercare advice including mouthwash.
Sending in a picture for this kind of thing is very beneficial.

Horizontal Lip

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:27 PM

I am interested in getting a horizontal lip piercing, so I’ve been looking at all the pictures in the BME gallery and reading everything on it in the BME encyclopedia. I will be doing the legwork to find a good piercer with experience doing these, since I don’t like being a guinea pig, and no one in my local area seems to have any experience with it. While I’m trying to find that perfect piercer, though, I had a few questions.

What is the “ideal” jewelry to use in this type of piercing? I’ve read that it is often done with flexible jewelry, which I’m not very comfortable with. I really prefer to have only top-quality stainless steel or titanium in my new piercings, and I’ve heard bad things about flexible jewelry breaking down in the body over long periods of time.

Is a curved barbell ok? Or would a surface bar with the 90 degree angles be a better choice? I want to be able to put the flat disks on mine, so that they don’t interfere as much with eating/drinking/kissing/etc., and I think the flat disks only come on the surface bars, right?

And here’s my stupid question - can surface bars be changed out, or do you just change the disks/balls/jewels on the ends? I’m a little worried at the thought of getting a piece of metal that I can’t just yank out if I really need to. I’m also concerned about getting a good fit with this piercing - since that is an area that stretches a bit when smiling or laughing, is it possible to get a nice snug fit on the jewelry, without it pulling/tearing if you smile really big?

Wow, I had more questions than I realized. Thanks in advance! :D

The first horizontal lip piercings done that were recognised by BME were done out of my shop several years ago. We did tonnes of them. We used curved barbells, 90 degree bent surface bars and regular surface bars.

Over time, all the the lip piercings rejected and for the most part, people had more trouble with than didn’t.
Because the lip stretches out and contracts so drastically ever couple seconds it’s my opinion that they just arent’ great piercings to have.
Surface bars CAN be changed out, they just shouldn’t be. But with horizontal lip piercings and knowing how much oral tissue swells when pierced, extra length needs to be left to accommodate the inital inflammation. Afterwards, a downsize is needed. Which more often than not, irritates the hell out of the piercing and causes some swelling again.

slanted tongue barbell?

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:24 PM

Hello,

I recently got a tongue piercing. It has only been a week but the swelling is basically gone. However I’ve now noticed that my barbell is slanting to the right a bit. It looks like this is the case because I have webbing running down the center of my tongue and the barbell rests on the right side of this webbing. My question is, is it okay for my tongue barbell to be slanted to the right like this? Is this normal?

Thanks!

It’s pretty common that we piercers will place a tongue piercing slightly off on the bottom to avoid the frenulum. You’ll find that once you downsize your barbell to snugger fitting one, the slant of the piercing won’t be as noticeable.

Downsizing for a bit.

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:21 PM

I’ve had my ears at 3/4ths for over a year and decided to downsize for a little while.

I took my plugs out 4 days ago and my ears have stayed swollen/red/secreting clear gunk.

Do you guys have any idea as to why this would happen?

Also, I’ve never had a blowout because I took my time stretching, but the backs of my ears look really blown out from the swelling, is there a way to stop that?

Your ears are probably feeling pretty thankful for the opportunity to get some good blood flow back to the tissue and to plump up.
When I remove my 1-1/8″ lobe jewelry for more than 24 I find my lobes get kind of sore from the increased circulation.

I’m unsure as to why you’d be having fluid secretions, but I’d leave the jewelry out for a while and keep the lobes clean and dry.
If you’d like to make them feel even better, do some massages with some Holey Butt’r or some Jojoba or Vitamin E oil!

no dimples?

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:20 PM

ive always wondered if getting your cheeks pierced has the same effect without dimples as it does with, and if they are removed what kind of scarring remains?

Cheeks can be pierced with or without natural dimples.
Some people find that the scars that remain after removal of cheek piercings can leave very significant dimpling in the cheeks as well as a small hole where the jewelry was.

My New Nose Piercing is CHAPPED??

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:15 PM

hey! so i just got my left nostril pierced about 5/6 days ago. my piercer told me to use regular dial soap and warm water to clean it.. its not really irritated or swollen anymore except when i clean it the screw gets pulled out a little sometimes.. NOW.. my nose is chapped. i used peroxide on it ONCE a few days ago but nothing happened until today. is it normal for it to be chapped?? if so, what can i do to stop the pain/ chapping..

sorry the pic looks bad but i think you can see it well enough

thnnx,

Arianna

No, it’s not really normal for your nose to be chapped, but it’s pretty common with new piercings.
After you initially are pierced, a small amount of swelling occurs. This stretches and stresses the skin in the area and when the swelling comes down, that skin flakes away for the new layer underneath.
With new piercings, we tend to be so caught up in keeping them isolated from the rest of our bodies and our daily regimes that we forget to keep up with basic hygeine and grooming around the piercing site.
The face sloughs off a lot of skin cells every day. Some people use exfoliants to help this process.
While your nose is swelly and then not, and while you’re using a seriously chemical and very drying agent like Dial soap (I’d stop that if I were you) and possibly not scrubbing away dead skin on that nostril to avoid irritating the piercing - you’re gonna notice some chappy skin.

Raised tissue on my lip piercing

Monday October 19th, 2009 @ 3:11 PM

Hi…recently i’ve found that there’s a raised tissue nearby the flat disc on my left labret. My piercer told me that it’s because of over accumulation of discharge & dead cells due to bed very late at night. I’ve been taking early bed for a week plus since the bump raised & gargle with warm sea salt water as usual but it seems like doesn’t reduce at all. I’m so worry about it & hope to have some advise on this problem. Thanks a lot & peace :)

Lip piercings can develop this kind of inflammation for a few different reasons.
Firstly, it could be that your piercing has been placed at a wonky angle and it’s irritating the piercing or that it’s being subject to trauma (chewing the jewelry, catching on teeth, oral contact with others…)

Secondly, it could be the quality of jewelry you’re wearing and your body is reacting to it - although by the picture, that doesn’t seem as likely.

My first guess is that it’s being irritated chemically somehow. Sea salt rinses are great to flush out oral piercings for aftercare. That being said, if you’re using a commercial mouthwash (Scope, Oral B, Listerine, etc) dumping booze or caffeine all into it or using a whitening toothpaste, that can seriously bother the inside of a fresh oral piercing
